Pressure sensor SINUS measures customer-specifically the optimal water consumption

Rietheim-Weilheim, 3rd April 2011 – The new pressure sensor SINUS has been developed especially for household appliances as well as for white goods. It measures the water consumption, e.g. in washing machines to prevent the consumer from unnecessary expense and to safe the environment. The pressure sensor is small, compact and very robust. For this reason, it can easily be installed.

The advantages of the pressure sensor SINUS are obvious – it saves the environment and the resources. The sensor, whose principle is based on the reverb, consists of a customer-specific adaptable characteristic line. This allows the manufacturers of household appliances, to maintain their characteristic line and to install the pressure sensor without big changes in their devices.
By request, the pressure sensor SINUS contains three programmable switching outputs as well as a selectable analogue output signal. Analogue-, Frequency- or PWM output signal are available as variants. In addition, the pressure sensor which can be integrated in a customer-specific case has an error-control-system. This error-control system has the function of a protective mechanism which prevents the device from overheating or overflow. The protective mechanism is activated when the water level has exceeded or fallen below a certain filling quantity. As a result, it can be prevented that a swash of the water leads to switching-off the machine. By the fast response time of the sensor can be guaranteed an almost immediate reaction when the different feasible pressure ranges are exceeded or fallen short of. The pressure ranges are adaptable for special requirements and allow an adjustment to customer's requests.

In the future the pressure sensor SINUS will be available as a difference pressure sensor. At the moment the sensor is used in the measurement of the atmospheric pressure in washing machines. However, because of its flexibility, it is adaptable at different applications. Through this flexibility an application in liquid media is conceivable.
