Marquardt at the EVS35 in Oslo

    Agile driver of e-mobility

    01.06.2022

Marquardt presents complete systems and individual components for electromobility at EVS35 in Oslo.
    • Marquardt is presenting its new developments at the 35th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS35) in Oslo.
    • The mechatronics specialist is presenting a broad portfolio of complete systems and individual components for e-mobility.
    • Highlights of the trade show appearance include the Interactive Charging Socket (ICS) and energy management solutions for battery and fuel cell.

Germany, Rietheim-Weilheim, June 2022 – As a provider of e-mobility solutions, Marquardt is a leading partner to the industry. It is therefore only logical that the mechatronic system supplier is also present at one of the world's most important international trade conferences on the topic of e-mobility: at the 35th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS35) in Oslo. From June 11, 2022, more than 5,000 people from over 40 nations and around 300 companies will meet here to discuss the battery and fuel cell drives of the future. Norway provides the perfect backdrop. After all, electric vehicles have the highest market share in the model country of electromobility, and the Scandinavians are also far ahead of other countries in terms of charging infrastructure.

Broad portfolio with many customization options

When the "who's who" of the industry meets at EVS35, Marquardt contributes a lot to the discussion. The broad e-mobility portfolio of the globally active automotive supplier from German ranges from high-performance power solutions such as on-board chargers, HV sensors and DC/DC converters to battery management systems and intelligent charging systems. "Our big plus is that we cover many areas in e-mobility, both with complete systems and with individual modules that are scalable for different target markets, whether in Asia, Europe or America," emphasizes Ralf Hug, Global Head of Product Management of Marquardt Goup's Mechatronic Devices business unit.

Intelligent charging and integrated energy management solutions

As a member of the international e-mobility association Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN), the company will be presenting its latest product developments at booth C01-19 in Hall C. Among other things, trade show visitors can learn about Marquardt's intelligent charging system Interactive Charging Socket (ICS), a globally scalable system with interfaces to the various worldwide inlet standards, automated charging cover and inlet DC flap for robot-based charging. Marquardt is thus providing an innovative response to the market trend to make the entire charging process more intelligent, automated and user-friendly. Here, too, the strength lies in the modular approach, as the ICS can be combined with various inlet standards (CCS, ChaoJi, CHAdeMO, GB/T) and works with intelligent lighting solutions including individually controllable RGB LEDs to create different lighting scenes. It also offers various HMI controls, for example an integrated charge termination switch and much more. The key element is a system architecture based on an intelligent electronics platform.

    Know-how for all e-mobility markets

Marquardt has been supporting renowned car manufacturers since the beginning of the transformation to the electric age, among other things as a pioneer in the development of high-performance battery management systems. This experience also flows into other areas such as fuel cell technologies, which are also a topic at EVS35. "The fuel cell vehicle of the future will also have a battery, so there are many synergies that we can exploit and that will benefit our automotive customers," explains Daniel Venuso, Business Development Manager for the Power and Energy Solutions business unit. Other markets can benefit from Marquardt's solutions, as in the future the systems and components will also be offered for electrified commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, and two-wheelers.
